​Power surges are on the rise this summer. While we’re keeping cool with air conditioners, the power grid is feeling the heat.
The temperatures are rising throughout the South Sound. As a result, many residents have been using air conditioning much more than usual.
The extra use of power puts a strain on the grid and can cause surges that will damage your electronics.
When it comes to copiers, replacement costs can be high. Sometimes the damage is minimal, like a fuse gets blown. But, this year, we’re seeing more main boards blown by power surges. When this happens, the copier often needs to be replaced.
So, to avoid the possibility of a costly repair, get a good surge protector between your electronics and your wall outlet, even if you have a *service agreement.
